GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Villa Torlonia is a public garden overlooking Rome's Via Nomentana, on the border between the II and the III Town Hall.
The Casino Nobile is an example of neoclassical architecture, with marble columns and pilasters of giant order. The side porches and Palladian portico are the work of Battista Caretti. He was responsible, too, parties decorative gothic stle of Pompeii and many indoor environments. The terracotta pediment, depicting the triumph of Bacchus, is student of Canova Rinaldo Rinaldi.
Despite the recent renovations that are allowing you to open to the public parts of the villa new pay some buildings still in a state of dangerous decay.
Inside, in limonaia, is a municipal museum of technology for children.
The villa was installed by the City of Rome a WiFi network which allows you free access to the Internet.
From 'entrance to the Villa Via Nomentana characterized by the presence of towering palm trees in the Canary Islands, the Cedars and oleander, you enter the driveway that leads to the Main Building, on the back of the building you can admire the theater with the semi-circular façade. Continuing to the right with his back to the entrance of the theater you will come across a forest of bamboo, to reach up to the limonaia.
Attached to the limonaia is the Medieval Cottage, a building on which there are the coats of arms of the Torlonia and Colonna, in memory of the marriage of Alessandro Torlonia and Teresa Colonna. In Medieval Cottage, characteristic architecture of the early '900, the City of Rome has chosen to place Technotown, a space dedicated to new technologies and intended for children between 11 and 17 years.
From here you go counterclockwise along the paths that run along the wall, you can see all the other buildings within the park. The first building that you come across are the Old Stables, and immediately next to the Stables New today a center for the elderly. Going forward we have a beautiful view of the Red Cottage, built in 1920 as the residence of the administrator of the Torlonia family, which today houses the headquarters of the Academy of Sciences. Passing near a forest Robinie you reach the entrance of Via Siracusa, going beyond you reach the Moorish Serra, which still retains a charming appearance, opposite is the Golf Tournament of medieval inspiration. The park of Villa Torlonia altrsì houses two museums: the Casino dei Principi and the hoot of owls.
