The first store was opened in 1932, in Via Cola di Rienzo, by Umberto and his wife Augusta. Thanks to their dedication, the store soon became a point of reference for the Romans who wish to purchase a freshly brewed coffee with a unique taste and sophistication food both Italian and foreign.
In 2012 Castroni accomplish 80 years, the family has grown, and in Rome were opened over the years nine stores Castroni, each of which is managed by a family member. Via Catania's point of sale opened in 1991, is located halfway between Piazza Bologna and the University La Sapienza.

To offer its customers a wider range, in 2010, founded the winery in Viale Hippocrates with a wide selection of wines, national sparkling wine, champagne, spirits and imported beers.
