The Museo Pietro Canonica, in the field of Villa Borghese, is an important example of the museological model houses artists, and in its entirety, can be considered one of the few examples in Italy.
The collection of the museum consists primarily of works by Pietro Canonica: marbles, bronzes and original models, plus a large number of sketches, studies and replicas that make a full itinerary of the evolution of this artist and at the same time, are of great interest from an educational perspective for understanding the creative processes and executives in the field of sculpture.
The particularity that this museum offers to visitors, besides the normal exposure throughout the seven rooms on the ground floor, is a more "intimate" and private road that passes through the study and the first floor, the private apartment of the artist.
In this part of the museum are collected fine furnishings, art objects, Flemish tapestries and even a samurai armor dating from the seventeenth century.
Very important is the collection of paintings owned by the sculptor.
They are paintings of the nineteenth century, especially valuable works of Enrico Gamba, Giovan Battista Quadrone, Antonio Fontanesi, Vittorio Cavalleri.
