The Tiber: The environment as an educational experience.
The boat trip to explore closely the river ecosystem: birds, fish, plants and many other organisms living in an environment continually threatened by pollution and human presence.
Visit the excavations of Ostia Antica: Daily Life of a Roman city
Originally founded as a Roman military colony not far from the capital to defend the coast and the mouth of the Tiber, Ostia had its next major expansion to the enormous development of trade that fueled the metropolis. Later, with the construction during the first two centuries of empire, the major ports of Claudius and Trajan to the north of the mouth, the port city turned into a residential center for the class of clerical workers in the management of these ports. He saw then increase its population, which reached a very high density and enjoyed all the many public services (baths, aqueducts, theaters, etc..) Of which he was given a Roman city at the height of the empire. |

09.45 Appointment to the pier in Ponte Marconi
10:00 Departure by boat for tourist navigation on the Tiber
Guide on board with historical and naturalistic explanation
12:30 Arrival and entrance to the excavations of Ostia Antica
Free lunch
14.00 (2 p.m.) Visit to the excavations of Ostia Antica
16:00 (4 p.m.) Return by train (cost € 1 not included) or the possibility of a bus service from the excavations at Ponte Marconi (cost € 5 not included per person) based on availability.
Return at 17.00 (5 p.m.) |

For groups of at least 30 people we make the tour any day of the week except Mondays.
On Monday the excavations are closed. |
