Condividi Sei grandi installazioni di Carlos Amorales si susseguiranno nelle sale del Palazzo delle Esposizioni senza soluzione di continuità, dando vita ad un nuovo e inedito lavoro. Con un processo di sovrapposizioneche l'artista sperimenta qui per la prima volta, si intrecceranno opere realizzate tra il 2006 e il 2010 nella prima mostra personale in Italia del noto artista messicano.
E' una delle figure di maggiore rilievo del panorama internazionale, nato nel 1970 a Città del Messico, dove risiede, dopo un periodo di formazione europea.
In ciascuna delle opere in mostra, prenderanno forma le figure del suo Liquid Archive, un repertorio avviato negli anni novanta, nel quale l'artista raccoglie immagini di diversa derivazione, dalla memoria privata alla iconografia storica o popolare, prelevate dalle riviste, dai cataloghi d'arte, da internet o da sue fotografie. Le figure del Liquid Archive sono investite di un potere simbolico immediatamente condivisibile e il più delle volte riferibile alle paure che le attuali condizioni di vita generano. Ma la sensibilità di Amorales, pur non ignorandole, non fa delle dinamiche sociali il tema dei suoi lavori. Il suo desiderio, secondo le dichiarazioni dello stesso autore, è quello di evocare ciò che non esiste. Quindi, se la materia prima sono le figure semplificate della realtà circostante, le immagini delle sue opere sono potenti fantasie.

Share The Palazzo delle Esposizioni will host a succession of six great installations of Carlos Amorales that will uninterruptedly feature a new and unpublished series of this renowned Mexican artist. Here, for his first solo exhibition in Italy, the artist will experiment a juxtaposition process of the works made between 2006 and 2010.
Carlos Morales was born in 1970 in Mexico City, where he lives after having completed his studies in Europe and is now one of the most prominent artists in the world. Each of the works on display will feature the shapes of his Liquid Archive, a collection that the artist started in the nineties to group images of a different origin: from private memory to historic or popular iconography, cut from magazines, art catalogues, on the Internet or from his photos. The characters of the Liquid Archive are invested with an immediately-shared symbolic power often ascribable to the fears of present living condition. Nonetheless, Amorales does not focus his activity on social dynamics; it does not disregard them either; rather, as he stated, the aim is to evoke what does not exist. Therefore, if the simplified characters of the surrounding reality are his raw materials, the images of his works are some powerful fantasies.
