This princely palace was begun at the end of the XVI century by Francesco da Volterra and was completed by Carlo Maderno.
The facade is of ashlar stone work and columns decorate the main entrance designed by Il Domenichino with a balcony over the doorway. In the beautiful inner courtyard decorated with marbles and stucco, one comes to a large staircase leading up to the inner reception halls of the piano nobile. The main hall of the palace was frescoed by Agostino Tassi, a very well known artist of his time who specialised in landscapes. His frescoes give the impression of open windows overlooking the sea. This palace, in the heart of old Rome, facing Via dei Coronari, can provide hospitality for up to 500 people.
