he pictures wich we see on this and previous page are the part of book "Roma Domus Aurea" edited by Franco Maria Ricci and they decorated the halls and wings of Domus Aurea. All of them are discovered during   Renaincance and became an inspiration of many artists at this time including Raphael which called tham "grotesque" because of their rich decoratin : flowers , mythological animals and greek gods. As the matter of the fact the therm "grotesque" was born in that period, so we can say that Nero leave his trace also in our dictionaries.
