Cinema in Rome

c_ight.jpg (447 byte)
m.jpg (1602 byte)ost foreign - language films in Italy are dubbed rather than subtitled. However, a growing number of cinemas offer "original language" nights. They are listed below. All commercial blockbusters make their way to Rome eventually, somethimes with delays of six months, and the less commercial films straggle in from time to time, to be found in film festivals and in some of the more "artsy" cinemas, such as the Nuovo Sacher.Note: snack bars are also rare, although they too are beginning to crop up more and more. Instead, films generally have an intermission, during which time a snack vendor makes the rounds, offering ice cream, pop - corn, candy and soft drinks. Matinee prices are lower as well

The latest cinema is the Nuovo Olimpia in Via Lucina, 16 (Centre) which is starting off with the latest Kubri "Eyes Wide Shut" and Wender's very successful "Buena Vista Social Club".
