Taking just a few steps into Romitello's garden, the noise of the city slowly disappears. The centre of Rome is very close, but our Residence is located away from the traffic and the noise and chaos of the city. Guests can enjoy a large park with trees, flowers, lawns and historical buildings which create an atmosphere of peace and silence.

The Residence

The Residence Il Romitello is the most recent building in the whole complex. Built in the 60's, today it has 35 simple but functional rooms. All our rooms are located on all three floors of the building, have an en suite bathroom and are accessible by elevator. Most of the rooms overlook the private garden and are equipped with telephone and internet access.

La Certosa

As well as the Residence, guests can opt to stay in La Certosa, an old country house which houses five guest rooms with private facilities and a small shared kitchen. Located in the heart of the park greenery, la Certosa is peaceful and private which makes it a most desirable place for Romitello's guests.

Facilities of the Residence include a bar, restaurant equipped to accommodate group parties, TV room, internet room, laundry and private car park for those en route to Rome by car.

Relaxation, nature and technology

A break at Romitello is ideal if you want a relaxing holiday. A private entrance leads to the splendid park-garden; in the communal area is a computer with internet access and all the rooms have PC's with broadband internet access too.

We also have a TV room, bar, restaurant and laundry. A switchboard for international calls is available to foreign guests, and for those en route to Rome by car, there is a private car park for exclusive use of our guests. For those seeking a moment of spiritual joy, there is an open chapel available for use by our guests.

Comfortable and relaxing

There are 35 guest rooms in the Residence. The furniture is simple but functional and all our rooms are clean and tidy with an en suite bathroom, telephone and laptop computer internet access. The guest rooms are located on all three floors connected by an elevator and most of them overlook the private garden.

We have single rooms, doubles, triples and rooms with four beds (on request). As well as the Residence, our guests can stay in La Certosa, an outbuilding located in the middle of the greenery, which has 5 rooms with private facilities and a shared kitchen.

The Residence “Il Romitello” is located in Rome, in Via Vincenzo Viara de Ricci 24, in a quiet residential area in the Via Torrevecchia zone, a vibrant shopping street, in the Primavalle-Torrevecchia neighborhood. Nearby are the commercial districts of Aurelio, Trionfale and Monte Mario.

The Residence can be reached in just a few minutes by subway, bus or on foot from the important historical sites, monuments and public buildings. The most important references are indicated on the grid:

By subway
Battistini subway station on line A, which links the whole city, is just 10 minutes away by bus or taxi. The Vatican and Basilica San Pedro are only 3 subway stops away; if you continue on the subway you will come to the Roma Termini station where you can connect to line B of the subway, the fast train to Fiumicino Airport, as well as all the other means of public transport in the city.

By Bus
Just outside the Residence is a bus stop with links to the most important zones of the city such as Piazza Venezia, Piazza Cavour, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Largo Argentina.

Close to the universities and hospitals
From the Residence via public transport or on foot you can easily get to the “Agostino Gemelli” General Hospital, the Sacred Heart Catholic University, the “San Filippo Neri” hospital complex, the “Cristo Re” General Hospital, the Valle Fiorita Clinic and the Villa Stuart Clinic.

By car
The fabulous Rome Exhibition Center, venue for important events and commercial trade fairs is only 15 minutes by car from Il Romitello.

How to get to Il Romitello

By car
Those arriving by car via the A1 Motorway can take the Roma North or Roma South exit, from there you will take the ringroad (G.R.A.) and then the Boccea-Primavale-Casalotti (2nd exit). From there follow the signs to Via di Torrevecchia.

By plane from Fiumicino
Those arriving at Fiumicino Airport can take the train to Ostiense and then onto Monte Mario by train. From there you can take the number 46 or 49 bus getting off at Torrevecchia / Provenzale which is just a few minutes walk from the Residence.

By plane from Ciampino
Those arriving at Ciampino Airport can take the bus to Anagnina, then line A of the subway to Battistini. From there take the number 46 bus to Mosca / Torrevecchia, then bus number 997 or 998 to Torrevecchia / Val Favara.

By train from Termini
Those arriving by train from Termini station can take line A of the subway to Battistini and from there bus number 46 to Mosca / Torrevecchia, bus number 997 or 998 to Torrevecchia / Val Favara.

Taxi
We can arrange transport at a discount price for guests who would like to take a taxi to the Residence.
